Job Description

The NewsOne Production Associate position edits video, encodes and distributes video to affiliates and clients, researches video, assists producers and correspondents in the production of stories, supports the on-duty Manager with various editorial, production, communications and customer service tasks. This position may include night, weekend or overnight hours.

Responsibilities:
• Edit video clips, packages, and correspondent debriefs.
• Encode and distribute video clips to stations and clients.
• Research and fulfill video archive requests from affiliates.
• Research and gather video for correspondents, producers, and editors as needed.
• Handle affiliate news beat calls and video gathering on weekends.
• Produce correspondent live shots in the newsroom.
• Provide support for ABC News Clients during nights and weekends.
• Switch out live feeds to affiliates and clients.
• Communicate editorial and operational information to affiliates and clients
• Occasionally shoot video in the field.

Basic Qualifications:
• At least 1 year experience working in a news environment
• Must be able to work independently and think critically in a high-stress environment, while under deadline pressure
• Must have video editing experience
• Must have strong research skills, excellent written and verbal skills and display sound editorial judgment
• Must have strong customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications
• Avid editing experience preferred
• Experience shooting video preferred

Required Education:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

The hiring range for this position in New York City is $46,640 to $64,130 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
