Job Description
Good Morning America has an opening for a Production Associate in the Field & Series Unit, the unit responsible for creating all of GMA's taped stories (pieces/packages) throughout the show.
Responsibilities:
• Contribute to all types of GMA content, including hard news and creative features
• Demonstrate strong writing skills and an informed grasp of current events
• Apply visual storytelling techniques and maintain excellent communication
• Work nights and weekends as part of GMA's 24/7 production operation
• Support producers in taped story production through video & graphic support, logging, research, social media clearance and additional production tasks as needed
• Self-edit video elements for broadcast
• Produce full segments for the show
• Exhibit problem-solving skills and initiative in a fast-paced environment
• Utilize core production skills such as writing, editing, shooting, and interviewing
Basic Qualifications:
• At least 1 year of local market/network/cable news experience or an internship in production within broadcast television or digital media.
• Stellar writing skills
• Strong editing skills
• Strong news & editorial judgment
Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in local market/network/cable broadcast television or digital media.
• Strong background in Journalism or other writing field
• Experience with DV shooting and Avid Editing
Required Education:
• Bachelors' or equivalent work experience
The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $55,800 to $74,800 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
