ABC News is responsible for all of the ABC Television Network's news programming, including ''World News Tonight with David Muir,'' ''Nightline,'' ''Good Morning America,'' ''GMA3,'' ''20/20,'' ''This Week with George Stephanopoulos,'' ABC News Live, ABC News Radio, ABCNews.com, and satellite service NewsOne. These award-winning teams provide the latest information and analysis of major events to bring viewers a better understanding of the world.
ABC News is looking for a Video Editor for its top-rated News programs.
This role will have the following responsibilities:
• Editorial responsibility over some segments.
• Making editorial judgments while editing segments for Voice Overs, show opens, short packages, as well as re-editing previously aired and edited packages.
• Editing fixes in recorded programs for on air consistency.
• Working with Production and Broadcast Operations playing back fixed content to the network and prepare elements for digital platforms.
This role is a full time, on-site staff position. The shift will vary and is subject to the requirements of the business and may include off-hour work. Rate is commensurate with experience.
This role will be covered by the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians - ABC collective bargaining agreement.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years working in Broadcast News.
• Must be an expert in Avid Media Composer and experience with Avid Interplay.
• Experience with third party effects including Sapphire, BCC a must.
• Must be knowledgeable of end to end broadcast workflows.
• Must be available to work flexible hours and weekends.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, work well under pressure, and able to meet deadlines.
• Work well with a team and independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Boris Red/Avid FX, Sapphire
• Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Media Encoder, Premiere.
• iNews experience
• X Keys, Command.
• Evertz Dreamcatcher
Required Education:
• BA or BS from a 4 year accredited college or university or equivalent experience
The pay rate for this role in New York City is $58.1375 per hour.
