Job Description
The Social Media Producer is a key member of the Good Morning America Social Team, responsible for producing and presenting GMA content across all digital and social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, etc.). This candidate will work with the team to produce and post content across all Good Morning America social pages, including sub-brands such as GMA Book Club and GMA Brightly.
This producer will create and maintain best practices that grow total audience engagement, and merge social and digital content together in a cohesive manner. They should be well versed in how to leverage social analytics to make data-driven decisions in both production and publishing strategies.
The role requires producing Instagram Story content and quote cards using Canva and Adobe Photoshop, producing TikTok videos using Adobe Premiere, live tweeting and cutting the broadcast using Snapstream, writing original content for GoodMorningAmerica.com and programming Instagram Lives. This candidate will collaborate with the broadcast and digital team to optimize both broadcast content and original digital content across all social media platforms.
This candidate must have a demonstrated track record of editorial excellence in the areas of lifestyle content, including: fashion, beauty, celebrity news, and health and wellness.
The candidate will be working with high-profile talent so should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, demonstrating impeccable judgment and social acumen, especially pertaining to breaking news on social media. They will be liaising with broadcast talent to produce TikToks and Instagram Lives on a weekly basis and helping inform talent of best practices on social. The candidate will ideate on social-first content ideas cross-functionally with digital, broadcast and talent teams. The candidate should be comfortable working quickly and efficiently across the entire Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
It is imperative that this candidate have expertise in social media trend tools like Dataminr and Crowdtangle, and be able to use that expertise to pitch and produce original social content. The role requires extensive knowledge of the competitive landscape.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for guiding the voice of Good Morning America on social media
• Produce engaging content, including graphics and short-form video, for social platforms
• Assist in development and implementation of a social media strategy to drive followers, engagement, and conversation across all social arms
• Identify new social opportunities while partnering with show producers
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum three years of experience managing social media accounts
• Be an experienced multimedia, cross-platform Producer
• Be able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
• Adherence to the highest standards of journalism
• Comfortable working closely with high profile talent
Preferred Qualifications:
• Three or more years of experience, at a major news organization, managing social media accounts
• Working knowledge of social discovery tools like Dataminr, Crowdtangle and Storyful
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree from a four year accredited college or university or equivalent experience
