Job Description
The ABC News Digital team sits at the intersection of journalism and innovation - crafting compelling content, including video, that reaches audiences wherever they are: our website, apps, distribution partners, and social platforms. We drive both the day-to-day and the big picture, developing short- and long-term strategies in close partnership with executive leadership. From sparking audience engagement to fine-tuning content performance, our work shapes and elevates ABC News' digital presence at every level.
The Social Media Producer is a vital member of the ABC News Social Team, driving the creation and distribution of compelling content across digital and social platforms - including TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X, and more. This role will work across brands and may be required to present on set for some situations.
This individual will help establish and maintain best practices that fuel audience growth, deepen engagement, and unify social and digital content into a cohesive experience. A sharp analytical eye is essential - this producer will leverage social analytics and other insights to make data-driven decisions that shape both production and publishing strategy, while maintaining a keen awareness of the competitive landscape.

Collaboration is central to this role. The producer will work cross-functionally with broadcast, digital, and talent to ideate social-first concepts, optimize content for each platform, and produce daily content.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, brings impeccable editorial judgment - particularly around breaking news - and possesses the social acumen to navigate the ever-evolving digital landscape with confidence and creativity.
