Senior Video Producer - Digital

Job Description

We're seeking a Senior Video Producer to join ABC News Digital. This role is for someone who has a passion for news – from gathering to execution of a final product – and thrives on being a team leader. The ideal candidate is an immersive storyteller and that can launch on multiple projects at a time to create a pipeline of digital first content (explainers, short form video, documentaries). This role will report to the VP of Digital Content.

Responsibilities:
• Lead a team of producers, associate producers, editors
• Candidates must exhibit superior news judgment, be creative and resourceful in the field, and have extensive reporting and producing experience
• Work with the team to streamline story pitches, arranging shoots, field producing, scripting, booking characters/experts, and editing pieces on Premier/Avid
• They must exhibit outstanding writing skills, the ability to balance multiple projects, and possess effective communication and collaboration skills
• Candidates must be an experienced, professional self-starters who are able to craft high-end pieces under intense pressure against a deadline
• Proficiency with shooting and editing is expected
• Maintain constant communication with senior management
• Candidates are also expected to foster an inclusive and positive work environment

Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 7 years of producing/editing video for a digital/broadcast news outlet
• Ability to work well with others in a highly collaborative environment
• Ability to balance priorities, multiple projects, and tasks with ease
• Experience with all levels of video edits, shoots, and pre-production processes
• Experience working in a breaking news-driven environment
• Ability to write on deadline with speed and accuracy• • Review production of content, from scriptwriting to final edit
• Identify, edit and program compelling, shareable videos across all ABC News digital platforms
• Clear communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Knowledge of either AVID and/or Adobe Premiere
• Knowledge of camera equipment
• Proven ability to roll with the punches and continuous changes that come with producing content in a digital news environment
• Personal comfort with data and knowing how your work is performing on a regular basis
• Proven track record producing for optimizing video for digital platforms, including O&O
• Understanding of social media and the ability to shift with the ever-evolving social media landscape
• Experience launching new digital video series
• Bring energy, humor and positivity to the group

Required Education:
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

The hiring range for this position in [location] is $90.5K to $124.4K per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
