Job Description

ABC News is looking for a Strategy Analyst to join their team! The Strategy Analyst will be an integral part of ABC News' strategic planning and decision-making process. Their role will involve conducting research, analyzing data, and providing insights to support the Manager of Strategy with the planning and execution of strategic projects. This includes designing internal processes and running key initiatives related to business transformation.

Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough research and analysis on market trends, competitor strategies, and industry developments to find opportunities and risks.
• Assist in the development and execution of pivotal initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams.
• Collect and analyze data from various sources to evaluate the performance of existing strategies and identify areas for improvement.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate key findings, recommendations, and progress updates to team members.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather data and insights while ensuring the information is accurate and clear.
• Stay up-to-date with industry news, emerging technologies, and standard methodologies to contribute to the news division's strategic decision-making process.

Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a business operations or strategy role, preferably within the media or news industry
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret sophisticated data and draw meaningful insights.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (Excel, Tableau) to manipulate and visualize data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations effectively.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive and solutions-oriented mentality.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of digital media trends and emerging technologies relevant to the news business is a plus.

Required Education
• Bachelor's degree in business, journalism, or a related field.

• Master's degree

The hiring range for this position in New York is $80,770 to $108,350 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
