Producer, ABC News (Overnight)

ABC News Washington is looking for a Producer who is editorially strong and skilled in package and field producing. The Producer manages the production of breaking news stories in a fast-paced news environment.

Travel on short notice is expected and may be necessary for extended periods. Must be available to work overnights and weekends.

Responsibilities:
• Cover general news assignments for the ABC News Washington Bureau
• Produce breaking news stories, including leading and managing production crews, coordinating with on-air talent, arranging interviews and locations shots, and producing content under strict deadlines
• Demonstrate strong visual storytelling and creative skills with a camera

Basic Qualifications:
• A minimum of three (3) years journalism experience in a news environment
• Proven experience using digital handheld camera equipment and be proficient in non-linear editing
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:
• Editing proficiency with Avid, Adobe Premiere and After Effects

Required Education:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
