Global Affairs Producer / Reporter - DC

Job Description

ABC News Washington is looking for a producer/reporter to join the Global Affairs team to cover the State Department.

Responsibilities:

This person must be a seasoned journalist with excellent reporting and writing skills with fluency in reporting/writing about international affairs, national security, and politics; with the ability to manage and file breaking news stories in a fast paced news environment with excellent editorial judgement and experience in field producing. This person must be willing to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends.

Basic Qualifications:
• A minimum of five years' experience reporting/producing in the news industry
• Must show experience enterprising stories, pitching and executing ideas
• Must have experience covering global affairs, national security, and/or politics
• Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Passion for news/politics and the ability to provide dynamic ideas

Preferred Qualifications:
• Shooting Experience
• Social Media Expertise

This role is considered on-site, which means the employee will work from a Company designated location on an ongoing basis.
