Job Description

Are you passionate about audio storytelling and the power of radio? Do you thrive in the fast-paced environment of a 24/7 newsroom? ABC News Radio is seeking a highly motivated, enterprising, and innovative Associate Producer to join our team.

What You Will Do:
• Respond to breaking news events, and communicate directly with affiliate stations
• Edit and produce ABC News broadcasts for podcast format
• Edit and produce hourly radio newscasts
• Handle sports content delivery including highlights, pre & post-game press conferences, and play-by-plays
• Write, edit, produce daily sportscasts
• Contribute to editorial meetings with creative story ideas
• Support on-air talent and overall newsroom production

Required Qualifications & Skills:
• Minimum one year of radio/audio experience
• Background in journalism and keen interest in current events, sports, history, and pop culture
• Proficiency in audio editing and sound mixing
• Sharp attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure
• Must be available to work all shifts in a 24/7 newsroom

Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience working in a dynamic radio broadcast or digital company.
• Familiarity with audio or video editing software

Education:
• BA or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills, written and oral

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $59,100 to $81,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
