ABC NEWS Washington Bureau has an opening for a Desk Editor on the Assignment Desk.

Responsibilities:

The Washington Assignment Editor manages, reports, and coordinates editorial information for all ABC News shows & platforms including ABC News Live, Digital & NewsOne in a breaking news event. The Assignment Editor allocates news resources and manages logistics for our teams in the field in a fast-paced news environment. The editor also coordinates with the Vertical teams on all the latest reportable information. This individual also monitors social media reporting and clears video & stills for all ABC shows and platforms. The Assignment Editor also collaborates with affiliate stations in our region to gather and disseminate reportable information and video.

Basic Qualifications:

Applicants should have superb news judgment as well as being efficient, quick-thinking and a supreme multi-tasker with at least a 2 years' experience in the news business.

This position is covered under a collective bargaining agreement with the Writers Guild of America.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
