WSET ABC 13 in Lynchburg, Virginia is looking for a creative, full-time News Photographer and Editor. ABC 13 is the station that holds government leaders accountable and is a voice for the voiceless. We are seeking someone who can see beyond the lens and bring back compelling stories. You should have strong editing skills in non-linear edit systems, possess excellent people skills, a strong work ethic, and a great attitude. A passion for storytelling is absolutely essential in this position. We shoot on SONY 400s and edit using AVID on desktops and laptops.

Why move to Lynchburg? The Lynchburg downtown area is thriving. There are lots of places for you to explore the great outdoors, such as the Blue Ridge Mountains and Smith Mountain Lake. The cost of living is low. You're also not far from several big cities and entertainment: Richmond (2 hours), Raleigh (2.5 hours), Washington DC (3.5 hours), Charlotte (3.5 hours), and Virginia Beach (4 hours). And if you're into sports: Liberty University, Virginia Tech, UVA and the Martinsville Speedway are all just a short drive away.

Requirements and Qualifications:
• At least two (2) years of shooting experience and technical knowledge of editing and videography equipment (Broadcast Station or College Equivalent)
• Team-player who can produce good stories under tight deadlines
• Must have valid driver's license, good driving record and be able to operate ENG news vehicles
• Ability to edit and shoot general assignment stories, lives shots and natural sound packages
• Must be able to lift and carry between 25 and 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Willingness to fly our drone (Sky 13) as either the pilot or visual observer.
• Photographers help the Sports Department shoot Friday Night High School Football and Basketball Games.
