A+E's Global Acquisitions and Technical Operations team is a community of collaborative post-production and media operation professionals. Together, we oversee the delivery, technical evaluation, and QC process for over 300 program masters each month along with short form, podcasts, and international programming across A+E's entire brand portfolio. The team also consults with our production partners on post-production best practices and technical workflows. The individual in this role will work closely with internal and external production partners and will have the opportunity to build relationships with external producers, creative executives, and podcast production staff.

The Supervisor will be responsible for performing the Global Technical Evaluation of all A+E Networks podcasts produced internally and through our external partnerships. The Supervisor will uphold the specs of A+E Networks for podcasts, communicating with content suppliers as needed to bring podcast deliveries within spec. This includes communicating technical specs, setting schedule and technical expectations, and confirming and evaluating deliverables. They will also be the main point of contact for all podcast master deliveries for A+E Networks to the Global Technical Operations division.

The role will require someone who is able to pivot with the needs of the business and apply their ingenuity, industry knowledge and creativity to refine workflows, while also working closely with content providers to understand their needs.

MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Perform Global Technical Evaluations of A+E podcast content. The Supervisor will evaluate audio quality and audio channel layout. This ensures all podcasts meet A+E global technical standards.
• Review and monitor all audio tracks to ensure they meet A+E standards.
• Independently initiate and maintain communication with content suppliers to ensure deliveries are made on time and to spec. Communicate fixes and maintain communication to ensure that fixes are done and delivered in a timely manner.
• Perform technical evaluation on all re-deliveries to confirm all fixes were properly made.
• Proactively troubleshoot audio issues and persistently apply industry knowledge to meet high technical standards.
• Must be able to maintain open communication with internal and external partners.
• Maintain an appropriate remote workspace that allows for maximum attention and concentration on required content, along with a robust internet connection capable of downloading large files at fast speeds.
• Utilization of our internal systems for delivery of podcast content and updating related metadata
• Participate in onboarding production partners. Communicate A+E global technical specifications and communicate workflows.
• Participate in tracking delivery schedules and key dates for delivery.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

YOUR STORY:

The ideal candidate is a critical thinker and a proactive problem-solver. You are highly proficient in all aspects of audio production and technical specifications with an excellent understanding of audio meters and all technical specs as needed. Knowledge of audio mixing and stem creation a must. You have knowledge of post-production processes and file formats, giving you an understanding of technical requirements and distribution workflows.

Strong time management skills and the ability to balance multiple projects and priorities are among your strengths. Proactive work ethic while maintaining a keen focus on accuracy in a detailed oriented workflow a must, a positive attitude with a desire to excel in a team-oriented culture and a passion for new technology.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience working Tech Eval/QC, post-production, production services, media supply chain and/or digital distribution.
• A strong technical understanding of broadcast quality production, firm comprehension of audio mixing and stem creation is required.
• Self-motivated to achieve goals, highly collaborative, resourceful with proven ability to work proactively, independently under tight timeframes in a fast-paced, growth environment.
• An innovative, passionate, and team-focused operational professional.
• Comfortable with an outward facing communication style, representing A+E Networks to our partners.
• Must have solid understanding of Full Mix, M&E and split audio. 5.1 knowledge a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
