THE DIVISION'S STORY

Production Operations and Engineering consists of a wide range of media centric roles. We are responsible for managing the entire life cycle of A+E's programming. This is where we produce, transform, broadcast and distribute content as well as run the tech infrastructure for the Media Supply chain. The Media Technician will work collaboratively to provide technical support for A+E production teams: Six West and Category Six. Support will be focused on long-form content with additional responsibilities of pre-production shoot guidance and support as it impacts media assets. This role will maintain the media supply chain from receipt of materials to final delivery and archive. The Media Technician reports directly to the Manager of Media Operations

MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Support and consult with internal production team on, pre-pro tech calls, post-production support, ingest, asset archive, delivery, workflow development and troubleshooting.
• Liaison with external vendors handling ingest of shoot media to cloud services.
• Onboard and provide technical support to long-form editors and assistant editors working on-site and remotely.
• Support and administer all media assets, metadata, folders, rules, and access across post-production storage and systems both on-site and in the cloud.
• Utilize Vantage workflows for shoot media transcoding and delivery.
• Maintain various system trackers + databases for resource, project, and assignment updates.
• Assist archivist in the preparation of RAW media and masters for backup and archiving.

YOUR STORY:
• Self-directed, collaborative, solid communication (verbal and written) and commitment to follow through
• Proficiency with Avid Media Composer, Interplay, Adobe Creative Suite, TeleStream/ Vantage, MAM systems
• Experience in remote workflows and technologies a plus: HP-RGS, Avid Edit on Demand, Teradici PCoIP - training also provided
• Experience with file transfer and cloud solutions a plus: Aspera, Signiant, Frame.io, FTP, Box, Files.com - training also provided
• Comfortable using Office 365, MS Teams, Google G-Suite apps, Windows+ Mac OSX
• Long-form, episodic and offline/online experience a plus
• Broadcast-cable television network experience a plus

Please note project assignment associates are engaged to provide service to A+E Networks on a temporary basis in connection with a specific project. Project assignment associates are hired and employed through a third-party vendor with a duration/tenure of no longer than eighteen (18) months.
