Currently, all employees are working remotely except for select roles that have an in office requirement. We value the health and safety of our people above all else, and our office re-openings will remain
contingent on the course of the COVID variants and federal, state and local safety guidelines and
recommendations. As we look forward, the majority of our employees will have flexibility that allows them to choose a predominantly remote, predominantly in-office, or hybrid setup.
Our official in-office locations in the United States includes LA, NYC, Stamford, and Chicago, and we have several other states in which employees may work remotely if their role isn't one that requires them to be in or near the office.
THE DIVISION'S STORY
We in Corporate Development & Strategy are always thinking about what comes next. We evaluate trends, challenge corporate norms, and work with departments throughout the company to develop strategies for success. Constantly on the lookout for great ideas, we build business plans for internal initiatives and invest externally in new startups changing the media landscape. You're a strategic thinker who can handle the pressure and defend your ideas when executives ask the hard questions. You excel at collaboration, are not afraid of a model, and can get things done.
In this newly conceived role, the Manager, Strategy and Business Development is tasked with the support for the development and execution of growth initiatives that optimize future revenue while ensuring that A+E will remain in a position to control its destiny.
More About What You'll Do
Construct quantitative models and form qualitative arguments that inform strategic decisions across all of A+E's GCS business unit, including:
- Go-to-market strategies
- Content valuation / pricing
- Production, and, partnership participation
- Work collaboratively across GCS and the greater A+E Networks to support financial planning, sales, and technology integration activities.
- Draft and, in some cases, present qualitative/quantitative plans to senior management to support the launch of new business lines.
Your Story (What You Need To Have)
EXPERIENTIAL
- Bachelor's Degree in business, mathematics, or quantitative science.
- 2 – 4 years' experience using data to substantiate strategic hypotheses – including years in a fast-paced and structured environment such as a management consulting firm or investment bank.
- High level of proficiency with large data sets in MS Excel and the ability to translate insights into management-ready MS PowerPoint presentations.
- Passion for streaming video and emerging media business models.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with diverse, multi-location, multifaceted teams.
PERSONAL
- Excellent and persuasive oral and written communication skills, with comfort in presenting to senior management.
- Hands-on work ethic, particularly with respect to data acquisition and modeling; a predisposition for ''getting things done'' while taking a collaborative approach.
- Strong personal character that embraces honesty and transparency
- Passion for technology as applied to the media business
