Production Operations and Engineering consists of a wide range of media centric roles. We are responsible for managing the entire life cycle of A+E's programming. This is where we produce, transform, broadcast and distribute content as well as run the tech infrastructure for the Media Supply chain. As a Live Format Producer of VICE News content, you'll play a vital part in helping our audience access our content wherever and whenever they want to experience it. This freelance role is remote to start, with the expectation of returning to our office based in our Stamford, CT facility, and reports to the Supervising Producer of Live Production.

MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Excellent organizational and planning skills – You're an energetic and proactive self-starter who can multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively in a fast-past live broadcast environment. You have excellent attention to detail to ensure segment timings and metadata are accurate and S&P notes are comprehensive as you modify live broadcast content for encore airings and non-linear distribution.

Fantastic communication skills – You're able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, studio production techs, S&P, editors, engineers and other key stakeholders to keep workflows on track and ensure mastering standards and deadlines are successfully met. You navigate conversations with tact and diplomacy and remain calm under pressure. You are detailed-oriented and able to create edit session and mastering records, enter necessary metadata to databases, create timing sheets and distribute delivery notices.

Flexibility, collaboration and teamwork – You pivot when unforeseen challenges arise and remain flexible when collaborating with partners to implement solutions. You feel at home delivering content with quick turnarounds to make broadcast deadlines. You take a forward-thinking conscientious approach to your work and contribute to improving live post production workflows.

Strong technical foundation – You understand the technology used to support live broadcasts and post production, including video and audio standards and file formats; and are comfortable working with producers and editors in a fast-paced Avid-based post production environment. You effectively implement protocols to support broadcast and digital TVE distribution. You are a strong collaborator who will work with engineering and supervisors to resolve any technical issues to meet expected deadlines.

YOUR STORY:
• BA Television Production/Communications
• 1-3 years' experience in live production/post production
• Experience with state-of-the-art audio and video post-production techniques and systems is required
• Experience working in a file-based production environment
• Availability to work nights and weekends required
• Knowledge of live production is a plus
