The Cloud Solution Architect will be responsible for the design and implementation of cloud-based infrastructure to support media processing systems for all A+E Networks (A&E, Lifetime, History, etc.).

This position will help design and build cloud-based infrastructure automation tools for a team focusing on media supply chain and media processing -- the systems that are responsible for moving television shows and movies around A+E's cloud-based systems and getting them everywhere the need to go, including hundreds of the world's top cable systems and streaming platforms. We are expanding our team and looking for an engineer to lead our group in building Infrastructure as Code, allowing us to scale our cloud-based systems and the work they do here for our media processes at A+E.

MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Design automation techniques and lead the team in managing cloud-based infrastructure.
• Write software and scripts to enable Infrastructure as Code and general automation of infrastructure and code in our cloud-based environments for media workflows.
• Advocate for and adhere to best development practices in partnership with team software development leads.
• Assist in building maintainable development platforms, including configuration of development, QA and production environments related to media processing.
• Create documentation for training operational personnel and support engineers as necessary on how our software tools work and how to troubleshoot.
• Mentor and enhance the skillset of other team members, particularly when it comes to building infrastructure in the cloud and leveraging automated deployment tools.
• Be the team's cloud-based infrastructure expert and top escalation point for complex issues.
• Support the department's efforts around diversity and inclusion throughout all areas of responsibility.

YOUR STORY:
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum three to five years of experience working to build and automate infrastructure in a public cloud provider such as Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, IBM or Oracle, with a strong preference for detailed experience working in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Minimum one to three years of experience with an Infrastructure as Code tool such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, AWS SAM, Serverless, etc.
• Minimum one to three years working in a scripting language such as Python, Ruby, PHP, Perl or JavaScript. Strong experience in Python a plus.
• Minimum one to three years working with CI/CD tools to automate deployments, including some experience with Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with both Windows and Linux-based operating systems, with the ability to perform administrative tasks including environment configuration and troubleshooting using key system tools.
• Experience working with development teams to automate code deployments.
• There is the opportunity to work in a ''blended'' environment from either on-premises or remote locations. Remote work from home is predicated on having a robust home network/internet service capable of supporting the position's area of responsibilities.

• Some experience with video production and post-production technologies, such as tools from Adobe and/or Avid.
