Summer Intern - WLEX Marketing

Our multi-platform marketing internship at WLEX-TV in Lexington KY provides students with real-world experience and a unique insight into the creative/marketing environment at a highly successful local TV station. This position includes working alongside sales, news and digital teams and creates opportunities to learn about commercial production, news promotion, and station marketing on multiple digital and social platforms.
Our internship is paid. In addition, a stipend to offset relocation or travel expenses (if necessary) is provided.

• Hands-on work in all facets of news/station promotion and commercial production, including writing, editing, videography, and graphics design
• Gain exposure to the creative process and how it relates to every department within the station environment
• Assist in community marketing at station events
• Create content for social media and digital with a short turnaround time
• Develop creative skill set and communication skills
• Other duties as assigned

• Enrollment at accredited university as sophomore or above and in good academic standing
• Ability to receive course credit for internship program
• Be available to work June-August 2024 (specific dates TBD)
• Be able to relocate to the market, if necessary

• Strong desire to learn and succeed in the industry
• Ability to work as part of a team

• Normal work environment
