Are you an aspiring sports journalist ready to cover one of the most dedicated fan bases in college athletics? LEX18, the E.W. Scripps Company's NBC affiliate in Lexington, Kentucky, is seeking an enthusiastic Sports MMJ Intern to join our sports team with a special focus on Big Blue Nation coverage.
This is your chance to gain hands-on experience telling the stories that matter most to Kentucky Wildcats fans while learning the craft of sports journalism in one of the nation's most passionate sports markets.
As a Sports MMJ Intern, you'll work alongside our experienced sports team to shoot, write, and edit compelling sports content across multiple platforms.
You'll be at the heart of the action, covering the teams and athletes that make Lexington one of the most exciting sports cities in America. This internship offers real-world experience that will help you build the skills needed to launch your career in sports broadcasting.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Gain exposure to the broadcast sports journalism industry
• Create content for LEX18's broadcast and digital platforms
• Perform assigned duties as relating to the internship
• Develop skills based on the area supporting
• Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Internships are intended to be positions that are for a limited duration
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
• Strong desire to learn more about the industry
• Ability to work with a team
• Ability to follow directions
