The Job

We have multiple sports editorial internship opportunities available. By applying to this posting, you will be considered for internship opportunities within this areaThese internships will be located in the Atlanta area. The selected interns will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern managers in office schedule.

This could include, but is not limited to:
• CNN Sports: We are made up of enthusiastic journalists who create sports content within a news climate including Bleacher Report segments on CNN-US and HLN as well as CNN World Sport which is a daily show airing on CNN International.
• NCAA Digital: NCAA Digital oversees the operations, day-to-day production, marketing and sales of NCAA.com, the official website of the NCAA. In addition to NCAA.com, the NCAA Digital team oversees products for the Division I Men's Basketball Championship, including March Madness Live.

The Daily

Duties could include:
• Learning all aspects of newsgathering from the moment a story is born to making air.
• Assist the sports newsgathering team by researching stories, fact-checking, gathering video elements and pitching fresh ideas.
• Fact-checking anchor scripts, copy-editing banners and producing graphic elements.
• Actively participate in editorial and show team meetings.
• Interns also assist the teams with basic administrative and production tasks.
• Write, edit and produce original content

• Sports knowledge
• AP style, proofreading, website management and social media
• Writing samples and/or portfolio

• A knowledge of international sports

And finally, what to know before applying:
• The duration of the program is 10-12 weeks dependent on the student's availability based on semester schedule
• Program date options:
• Start Date: June 5th or June 12th
• End Date: August 18th or August 25th
• Interns will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.
• Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.
• Interviewing will take place from February through mid-April. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.
