The Texas Rangers is looking for a Intern, Broadcasting to join our team! The Intern, Broadcasting will be hands-on, all-access team member with exposure to every aspect of live game broadcast operations. The ideal candidate will possess a basic understanding of live sports broadcasts and non-linear workflows and a passion for learning. This person will possess a team-first attitude and find innovative ways to streamline processes as well as be willing to learn on the go from Broadcasting staffers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
• Perform media acquisitions in a non-linear environment, including editing, assist with digitizing or organizing archival materials from previous seasons.
• Log melts and old game footage by timecode.
• Learn technologies associated with functions of the department.
• Assist in moving equipment in the office and on-field.
• Support broadcasters and production crew with in-game needs as they arise.
• Assist the Social Media Manager with game-day content needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Proficient in Adobe Create Cloud (Premiere Pro, Audition, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.).
• Bachelor's Degree or working toward a degree in Broadcasting, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
• Previous experience working in sports broadcasting, media relations, or a similar role.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with broadcasters, media members and fans.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, as required by the baseball schedule.
• Understand or willing to learn the game of baseball.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and familiarity with content management systems.
• Positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to easily lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
