IT Asset Management Intern, CORP – Summer 2023

The Sony Pictures Entertainment Internship program offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. This Summer Internship is from May/June through Sept. 1st (start and end dates are flexibile based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday in the specified location This is not a remote role. A hybrid work option may or may not be available.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
On a monthly basis, Endpoint Asset Management processes several hundred service requests related to the allocation of endpoint assets (Laptops, Desktops, Monitors, Peripherals) that support SPE business goals and values.
Our goal is to provide proactive high value for timely end-user service & support that provides valuable results to End User Services and to SPE overall.

The Intern will have an opportunity to gain knowledge and experience by assisting the Hardware Asset Management team with daily responsibilities that involve the beginning and end of life cycle management of the company's hardware and software assets in addition to gaining practical work experience & learning opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Receive and check in computer equipment hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Process hardware allocations based on requests and incidents submitted by the business.
• Update the asset database with the equipment asset tag, serial number, and model and associated costs where appropriate for all hardware and software related to desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
• Monitor the queue and pickup equipment for return to inventory.
• Track the asset lifecycle of assets for move, add or changes of the related hardware by updating the asset status in the Asset Database.
• Process Desktop Break/Fix asset returns which are returned after end user receives their new hardware. The retuned assets are identified for repurpose or e-waste/donation depending on the condition and warranty info.
• Learn the process for repurposing assets, data wiping, testing, and bringing up to SPE standards.
• Gain insight into the asset donation / disposal process.
• Assist with the asset donation / disposal process: assets are data wiped, asset tags and Microsoft COA is removed and prepared for pick up by the Recycle Vendor. The Intern will play an integral role in this process because they will be assisting the primary Break-fix resource to follow up on hardware retrievals from term notices and loaners along with hardware repair and e-Discovery.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Working knowledge of personal computers
• General knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel)
• Working knowledge of Service Now for ticket creation and asset updates
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Can do demeanor to work with different levels of management and SPE personnel
• Has the ability to work independently to accomplish tasks that require coordination between multiple departments and people
