Global Procurement Intern, M&A Sourcing Integration Management – Spring 2023

This Spring Internship is from January through May 26th and all candidates must be able to work between 10-29 hours a week, Monday through Friday (flexible depending on school schedule) at our Culver City location.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

Sony Pictures Entertainment Global Procurement is a dynamic and key contributor across the studio and comprises the following teams: Sourcing, Procurement, Alliances, and Travel. All teams collaborate to help guide the businesses to preferred strategic suppliers and/or established buying channels to drive compliance to procurement and business strategies. This department is full of fast-paced, highly energetic individuals that thrive on making a difference to the company.

The M&A Sourcing Integration Management team leads Procurement and Sourcing in the planning and execution related to integration of acquired companies. The team owns the end-to-end integration process and associated activities – from the initial development of strategic integration plans (with milestones and timelines) to execution of the tactical plan (opportunity identification & execution, technology deployment, policy enforcement, etc.).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support the development of a comprehensive M&A Sourcing and Procurement Integration Playbook that lays out repeatable processes that accelerate integration and ensures a seamless transition to business as usual
• Collaborate with Sourcing & Procurement teams to build standard Integration Q&A templates – to be leveraged when interviewing newly acquired companies about their current purchasing processes, spend systems, preferred vendors, etc.
• Collect training and policy documents from various Sourcing & Procurement teams to build a repository of critical documents to be distributed to acquired companies upon integration
• Cleanse/analyze acquired company spend data (incl. assessment of top suppliers, high spend categories, etc.)
• Partner with Sourcing Category teams to support the identification and tracking of potential integration savings/synergy opportunities leveraging insights gathered through spend analysis and information collected through interviews with acquired company stakeholders
• Develop and maintain project management trackers to ensure continued progress on identified opportunities across acquired companies
• Facilitate meetings and workshops with internal Sourcing & Procurement teams as well as external business stakeholders – including compiling & sharing agendas, capturing meeting notes / key action items

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Relevant education or experience in Sourcing & Procurement
• Proficient (at a minimum) in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical thinker – able to dive into data and derive meaningful insights
• Self-starter with a positive attitude – able to be proactive, resourceful, and flexible
• Exceptional organization and project management skills
• Detail oriented and highly skilled in time management
• Demonstrates the ability to learn and adapt quickly to new challenges
• Collaborative and a team player – comfortable working across various teams
• Understands and shows passion for the entertainment industry developments
• Strong ethics and integrity, including the ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and handle sensitive information and materials
