Game Design Intern

San Diego, CA

San Diego Studio is seeking Summer Game Design Interns to contribute to the vision and development of our leading game title, ''MLB The Show''.

Responsibilities:
Our designers are artisans of interactive baseball experiences. We offer many different experiences for gamers, and our designers juggle many different responsibilities. A designer works with all disciplines to take features from concept to completion. This usually requires getting your hands dirty in content tools, scripting, excel spreadsheets, and perhaps even code. Most importantly, we expect our designers to maintain a collaborative spirit that encourages everyone to help find the right ideas and the best compromises.

Qualifications:
• Current or post-graduate (up to 1 year) student
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, UI/UX design, artists, and engineering to define, design and implement fun and innovative gameplay
• Build upon Design systems to continue advancing experiences to the next level
• Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and prototypes to effectively communicate gameplay and design ideas
• Present designs to peers and partners while clearly communicating design rationale
• Visually and verbally articulate design decisions to teammates both within and outside of the team project
• Self-motivated with an ability to take initiative
• Able and motivated to work with other team members
