Job Description
Marquee Sports Network is the exclusive television home of the MLB Chicago Cubs in partnership with Sinclair Broadcast Group (Nasdaq: SBGI). It is the Chicago-region's exclusive network for fans to view live Cubs games, features extensive pre and postgame coverage, exclusive Cubs content and other local sports programming. The Marquee Sports Network Production Team has an incredible opportunity for a student pursuing a career in sports media! We are seeking a creative, self-starter who is ready for a challenge. In this role, the Production Intern may have the opportunity to work with Producers, Directors, and Editors and learn the inner workings of how a live pregame, game and postgame show is constructed. As a Production Intern, you will gain the skills and necessary knowledge needed to succeed in the television production environment. Not only will the internship provide the right candidate with a portfolio of work to enhance their resume, but it will give them exposure to a variety of media professionals and the opportunity to learn more about the professional sports and regional sports network industry. 

Goals of Internship:
• Gain control room and live production experience.
• Exposure to day-to-day operations in our Production Department as well as all aspects of business development and television broadcasting.
• Opportunity to establish relationships with Producers, Directors, Editors, and other roles involved in the television production process.

Duties Include:
• Cover live events from the production studio office in order to prepare for pre- and post-game shows.
• Assist in the production process for live studio shows, taped studio shows, and documentaries.
• Utilize good judgement and preparation toward prioritizing and selecting content from a variety of sources.
• Monitor live channel feeds and stats feeds on our digital platforms and triage when technical issues arise.
• Support production crews and production operations staff in control room and truck environments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Organized, capable of managing and prioritizing multiple projects at once.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Reliable and creative with a strong work ethic.
• Basic news journalism experience and news judgement; understand assigned sport(s) from a journalistic point of view.
• A passion for sports news, storylines, and trending topics.
• Versatile experience and knowledge of creating content for a wide range of mediums
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, AVID and iNews is preferred
• Ability to work well under tight deadlines and stay on top of live events as they occur.
• Familiarity with business applications (Word, Excel) and presentation applications such as PowerPoint and/or Keynote.
• Ability to work independently, but also enjoys collaboration and works well in teams.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to take feedback fluidly.
• A passion for brand integrity and high attention to detail.
• Able to commit approximately up to 20 hours a week, minimum of 12-16 hours per week.
• Availability for some weeknight and weekend events which will be discussed well in advance.
