Intern - On Air Promotions

Job Description

FOX Sports South is seeking a dedicated intern to join the On-Air Promotions (OAP) team during May-August 2020. The intern will support a team of writers/producers/editors with post-production as well as in-house and/or field productions.

Responsibilities:
• Edit highlights and reel elements for OAP / Marketing

• Gather promo footage and elements - i.e. ingesting shoot tapes and cards for editors' feed tapes and event records

• Log melts and edit network promo spots

• Assist with placing promos on programming logs

• Write basic sports copy for team matchup promos and live reads

• Pull soundbites from telecasts

• Serve as PA during OAP promo shoots

• Select and edit music cuts

• Create ''best of'' sizzle reels

As part of the program, the intern will also spend time learning about other departments within the network, including Programming, Production, Digital, PR, Ad Sales and Distribution.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university and be Sophomore status or above

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

• Good organizational and project coordination skills required

• Experience editing on non-linear systems is required (i.e. – Final Cut Pro, Avid, Adobe Premiere, etc.)

• Must be able to work a min. of 20 hours per week during office hours

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook is required

• Must be able to perform in a deadline-oriented environment

• Familiarity with the network brand and general sports knowledge is helpful

Environment:

The intern will primarily work in an office environment, but it will also be necessary to occasionally work in the field at live sporting and media events.
