Digital Media Production Intern (Spring/Summer 2021)

Marquee Sports Network is seeking a Digital Media Production Intern for our regional sports network. This paid internship will offer the opportunity to both learn new skills and demonstrate your abilities to publish content to our website and app and work with a team of video producers, editors, writers and website managers. As a part of the Marketing Department, you will also assist in various tasks to help promote our network programming and team coverage. The ideal candidate is looking to pursue a career in sports media and arrive with select skills that can be sharpened during your time at Marquee Sports Network.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Help monitor our website and app provide appropriate titles and metadata for our content
• Edit video content and assist in the publishing process and edit game highlights for with news and game notes
• Create quality headlines, refine copy; edit, proofread and improve written content on regular basis
• Closely follow all baseball and other sports news
• Assist in coordinating the integration of sponsorships and promotional messaging across all digital platforms
• Punctual, regular and consistent attendance
• Ability to be productive in a remote work environment
• Other Marketing duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications, Skills and Educational Requirements:
• Current student in attendance at an accredited university or college
• Prior experience and/or coursework focused on multimedia journalism, student television, website publishing and video editing preferred
• Limited experience with WordPress or another CMS preferred
• Prior experience editing sports-related video content preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; previous sports writing experience a plus
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce quality content
• Ability to assist in executing editorial and creative decisions under supervision
• Passionate about sports with general knowledge of baseball
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Openness to feedback and ability to receive feedback from others and apply it to the work
• High productivity when working independently and while collaborating with others
• Ability to work nights and weekends
