Summer 2023 Internship Program:

• Time Commitment: 40 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need.

NBC Sports Next is a subdivision of NBC Sports and home to all NBCUniversal digital applications in sports and technology within its three groups: Youth & Recreational Sports, Golf, and Betting, Gaming & Emerging Media. NBC Sports Next is fueled by its mission to innovate, create larger-than-life events and connect with sports fans through technology to provide the ultimate in immersive experiences.  

Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:

Engineering 
• Post-Production and Digital Workflow – this team provides the systems and support for multiple areas of NBC Sports Group Production and Operations for both in-house and on-the-road events, including NFL, Notre Dame Football, NASCAR and the Olympic Games. Our systems perform multiple functions, including: live recording of competition feeds, video editing for live coverage and feature production, transfer of footage and finished shows to and from production trucks at competition venues, and storage and retrieval of footage in the NBC Sports archives. 
• Olympics, Venue Engineering – this intern will work with the NBC Olympic Venue Engineering team to provide systems, equipment and engineering support and solutions to the NBC Olympic Production team.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
• Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the length of the program.
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.
• Must be willing to work in Stamford, CT.

Desired Characteristics:
• Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• For Post-Production and Digital Workflow: Operating System familiarity: Windows Server, Linux (RHEL/CentOS and Ubuntu).Programming/Scripting - One or more of: Python, HTML/CSS, Javascript, SQL. 

The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $20.00.

The hourly rate for graduate student interns is $25.00.
