23-24 Seasonal Internship Program - Basketball Operations

Program Overview:
The LA Lakers Internship Program is a season long paid internship (approximately September through June) that prepares participants for a future working in sports and entertainment. Interns learn the business of basketball off the court and behind the scenes through department assignments, special events and professional development opportunities.

Intern Responsibilities:

Each Intern is assigned to a specific department as an official team member for the duration of the internship. Assignments are based on current business needs as well as the candidate's interest and experience. The Intern will work on key initiatives and projects specific to their department.

Professional Development:
Interns will participate in learning sessions geared towards enhancement of business skills and understanding of day to day business operations, including guest speaker sessions, resume preparation courses and a group presentation.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Hudl Sportscode experience
• Familiarity with Second Spectrum, Synergy, Fast Scout or Fast Draw
• Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
• Desire to work in sports and entertainment
• Flexible schedule with willingness to work both normal office and non-traditional hours
• Recent graduate or enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate college or university preferred

This position is not eligible for relocation, housing, or college credit. This position will be based in the office in El Segundo, and most departments require Interns to be available for all home games. This position is not eligible for remote work.

This is a non-exempt role paid at $18/hour.
