Department/Group Overview:

Media Engineering is an innovative organization that is passionate about providing the best possible video playback experience, art, and metadata to customers worldwide, powered by exceptional technology. This work requires streamlining and repurposing technology across different business and distribution channels – including streaming, linear, and theatrical – so that technology can ebb and flow across the needs of the business.

The Content Library Team within the broader Media Engineering Org owns the descriptive metadata that powers Disney+ and Hulu's browse and playback experiences. We solve complex data problems at scale that enable our services to have a richer content experience.

A Day in the Life:

Throughout this internship, you will have the opportunity to work on:
• Distributed data intensive micro-services
• ML Model development and deployment
• Your technical and collaboration skills in an environment where it is safe to fail and learn from your mistakes.

What we are looking for:

(Basic Qualifications)
• Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in data analysis and analytical thinking.
• Strong ability to multi-task and context-switch with ease in a fast-paced, and ever-evolving organization.
• Process-driven and extremely diligent.
• 1 year of experience with at least one modern programming language (Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.)
• At the time of application, be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program AND returning to school the semester/quarter following the internship OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship ​
