What You'll Do
Epic Games' Unreal Engine Tools Team is looking for smart, creative Programmer Interns. Our interns are given challenging projects over the work term, and are provided with a meaningful experience with high expectations for performance. This team is responsible for developing amazing new features in multiple areas of Unreal Engine. For Open World tools, we are improving support for large worlds by reducing the amount of work needed to set things up and let artists focus on adding content. For Virtual Production, we are developing tools used to create movies, TV shows, and live events. For Enterprise, we are improving our data import, conversion and optimizations frameworks for visualization of huge architecture, manufacturing & automotive models. You will work directly with the brightest technical minds in the business as we build the premier game engine for a multitude of platforms.
This particular role is within the UE Modeling Tools team, which is responsible for a wide variety of artist tools to create and modify individual assets as well as entire game levels.
In this role, you will
• Work closely with the team to create and implement new features.
• Work with the artists and designers on building content creation tools.
• Improving existing features in the Unreal Editor.
• Investigating and fixing bugs to improve the overall editor experience.
What we're looking for
• Strong C++ knowledge.
• Strong background in math and logic.
• Knowledge of mesh-based geometry.
• Game engine fundamentals and UE5 experience are a plus.
• We would like to see samples of your technical work online (GitHub, personal site, etc.)
• All candidates must be eligible to work 40 hours per week and have the ability to work in a remote environment as needed.
This internship has a flexible start date in 2024. Recruitment will be ongoing until teams find an ideal match.
