Job Description
..You will be assigned to the digital programming team, responsible for curating the CNN International homepages that generate millions of daily views across the globe. The team plays a crucial role during breaking news, ensuring push alerts are sent and the platforms are updated in a timely manner.
Using editorial judgement to place stories on desktop and mobile web, test headlines and monitor audience behaviour, you will learn how the programming team optimises global interest to the stories we cover.
Your Role Accountabilities...
• Craft and test compelling homepage headlines.
• Write engaging push alerts for our feature content.
• Edit the CNN homepages on either desktop, mobile web, or the app.
Qualifications & Experience...
• Undergraduate or postgraduate journalism degree (not essential), vocational training and/or ability to illustrate a portfolio of work / content (e.g.: blogs, podcasts, YouTube Channel, etc.)
• Experience in working as part of a team and to strict deadlines.
• Ability to work quickly, managing time and multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• A passion for international news.
• Proactive and ready to throw themselves in to any task.
The Internship...
• Salary: £28,000 p/a (pro rata)
• Contract Length: 6 months
• Start Date: 2nd March 2026
• You will gain hands-on experience working on business-critical projects.

Next Steps…
• Stage 1: Submit your CV by Sunday 16th November (you will not be able to apply after this date).
• Stage 2: For eligible candidates, you will be invited to complete a written questionnaire in HireVue. The deadline for this is Sunday 23rd November.
• Stage 3 (not all roles): For select roles, we will require candidates to complete an additional HireVue assessment consisting of written and/or video responses to questions. The deadline for this will be Sunday 30th November.
• Final stage: Interviews will take place in January.
Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
