Job Description
We are seeking an entertainment-savvy Korean Language analyst to join the International Editorial team at Netflix and help categorize television series, specials, and movies for our 100 million users. You will be tagging, rating, researching, and enhancing metadata for the Netflix catalogue primarily in Korean in a high-volume, high-quality, deadline-driven environment. In addition, you will collaborate on special projects with cross-functional business partners, while striving to deliver delightful, trustworthy user experiences on a global scale.
The ideal candidate has a deep knowledge of East Asian content including Korean and passionate about media & entertainment. Must be able to communicate and write efficiently in English with attention to detail, should be comfortable using a variety of publishing tools, and is thoughtful in the delivery of information while working on diverse content within an eclectic team.
Responsibilities:
• Watch, research, rate, tag, annotate and write analysis reports for movie and TV content
• Quality assurance review of content metadata
• Timely and efficient completion of all projects
• Being aware of political, social or other sensitive content from the region and able to flag them appropriately
• Being a strong advocate for the core team in California, while also building successful partnerships in region
• Multitask, self-direct and self-manage day-day aspects as well as other editorial projects that require cross-functional collaboration
• Develop a deep understanding of the market and able to provide metrics and market analysis for the region
• Understand and successfully interpret the business strategy for the region
• Ability to quickly master internal tools and systems, and fluency in Excel, Airtable, Google Sheets and other data trackers and management systems a plus
Qualifications:
• Native level fluency in Korean a must
• Fluency in Japanese or any other East Asian language a plus
• Passionate about movies and TV with a deep knowledge about Korean and East Asian entertainment market
• Keen understanding or interest in Korean culture and history, including current affairs
• Ability to distinguish nuances within different movie and TV genres and distill the essence of a movie/show, including sharing findings in a concise manner
• Demonstrated excellent cross-functional skills in previous roles, including presentation skills
• Ability to multitask and self-manage projects that require cross-functional collaboration
• Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-moving, professional environment
• Ability to remain objective and deliver constructive analysis
• Experience working with large data catalogues or education/experience in media/video industries or archival studies a plus
