Production Associate Director

Job Description

Responsible for providing production support to the Director during live and live-to-tape programs, primarily newscasts. Production rundown and script preparation, video playout coordination, Production Control Room (PCR) timing and counting live and pre-recorded production elements, coordinate and cue live shots, communicate production elements and status to Stage Manager, Lighting/Teleprompter operator. Responsible for tracking status of pre-recorded and edited content during live newscasts and remote production. Create MOS objects, confirm rundown and playlist status. Provide desktop editing support when necessary and applicable. Supervise server playout systems during live broadcasts.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors Degree in Communications or related field preferred. Minimum 2 years live News production associate directing or directing experience. Excellent organizational and communication skills required. Thorough knowledge and understanding of fundamental PCR News production workflow, operating systems and technology. Experience in Ross Overdrive automation or equivalent PCR automated production systems. Demonstrates willingness and aptitude to learn and adapt to new production technologies. Working knowledge of PCR systems including Ross Overdrive automation, ENPS/OPUS, BitCentral/TONS, FCP/Adobe Premiere, Ross Xpression graphics and/or comparable production and operating systems. Microsoft Office/Outlook and Microsoft Teams knowledge also required. Proficient computer abilities including video server play-out systems required. Team player. Precise and timely decision-making. Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize workflow in a dynamic live production environment. Communicates clearly and provides accurate directions to crew during live broadcasts. Must be willing to work mornings, nights, weekends and holidays. Director experience a plus.
