Radio News Editor / Writer - Morning Drive

Job Description

WWJ Newsradio 950 is seeking a highly motivated, creative person to join our award winning morning news team. The schedule for this job is 4am - noon, Monday-Friday. The editor/writer will work with the morning show and midday show producers in setting up and finalizing content for newscasts. You must be able to write short, concise stories, some of which are breaking news situations. This person must have the ability to gather information for stories via phone, social media, email, etc. Recording and editing experience is a must.

Qualifications:

Required: Work well under pressure; write stories, reporter leads, network feeds in a timely manner; work with producers and coordinate live reports from reporters in the field; Edit news copy and audio for on-air; Find newsworthy stories & develop new angles to stories.

Preferred: Must have computer and audio editing skills
