DESCRIPTION:

As the Senior Producer, you will work closely with the Executive Producer, Senior Broadcast Producer and production team to develop and shape the overall vision of the CBS This Morning Saturday. In this role you will help to manage all aspects of production and bring your perspective to the broadcast.

The Broadcast Producer will contribute to the live execution of the broadcast, special reports and other network-wide television events. You will help manage a team of producers, writers, editors and graphics artists.

The candidate will also help manage the shows rundown--all elements of the live show production, anchor copy and elements, live and taped interactions with correspondents as well as show teases---working closely with the Executive Producer, Senior Broadcast Producer, and Director.

In the frequent event of breaking news, this person is in charge of the evolving rundown, overseeing the big-picture editorial flow of the show as well as focusing the reporting, bookings, graphics, and copy.

Candidates must be decisive multi-taskers who are recognized for their journalistic judgment and ability to remain calm in high-pressure control room environments. They also must be willing to deal with a flexible schedule. The job requires late nights and early mornings close to and on broadcast day.

The position requires a broad and current knowledge of national and world events. You are an excellent writer who is fluent in AP style. You are adept at building a rundown and know how to keep it on time. You have an excellent command of legal and standards processes. The ability to communicate with other managers and producers across the news division along with network news executives is essential. This role also serves as back-up to the Senior Broadcast Producer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
• 8 Years of control room and line-producing experience
• 6 Years of newsroom management experience
• Ability to recognize stories with a high potential of producing compelling television; deep knowledge of politics and current events
• Exceptional understanding of broadcast and video production
• Must have impeccable news judgment and excellent multi-tasking abilities
• Must be an excellent writer and copy editor
• Thrives in high-pressure and time-critical situations
• Must be a leader and team player with a positive attitude
• Passion for news, journalism, and storytelling
