Responsibilities
The Graphics Researcher at Weekend TODAY is the graphics contact for producers, directors, artists and playback operators during the broadcast and throughout the day. The Researcher reviews and modifies graphic orders, assigns uncompleted requests, and produces additional elements to enhance segments. The Researcher serves as the final evaluator of prepared graphics, ensuring elements are accurate, error-free, and made in accordance with the producers' desires and the show's look and feel. The Researcher fulfills an integral role in the control room or in the graphics workspace, alerting the director when elements should be inserted, communicating with producers and artists, and producing breaking news requests.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
• Manage graphics from conceptualization to completion, including animations, maps, photographs, text panels, monitors and lower thirds
• Review, proof and assign existing graphics requests, generate additional elements to enhance stories
• Direct graphics from control room during live broadcast
• Coordinate graphics from the graphics workspace to the control room
• Forward continually evolving rundown changes to a variety of team contributors
• Review producers' notes to develop in-depth knowledge of all segments
• Monitor breaking news, research and produce elements to accompany
• Facilitate communication between the show and the legal department. Provide rights and clearance guidance to senior leadership and producers
• Coordinate updates/repairs for other time-zones
• Compose and communicate detailed, daily feedback for employee base
• Responsible and troubleshoot future requests with show staff
• Develop and lead initiatives to improve graphics ordering, creation and playback processes
• Track previous orders to minimize workflow for recurring segments
• Maintain ''Graphics How-To'' guide for entire staff's reference

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
-At least 1 year of production experience in news production at the network or cable news level
-At least 1 year of graphics experience working with graphics at the network or cable new level
-Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communication, English or a related field of study

Additional Job Requirements
-Must be willing to work in New York, NY
-Willingness to travel and work overtimes and on weekends, with short notice
