Hearst Magazines is searching for an ambitious and creative executive editor with excellent management skills to help shape editorial vision and develop new and exciting projects. This is a job for an ambitious person who can manage staff, develop and implement strategy, and contribute big-picture ideas. What you'll do:
• Work with department heads to create lineups and select writers
• Edit and top-edit stories and display copy, and write cover lines
• Collaborate with the art and photo departments to develop layouts and visuals, with the advertising department to generate revenue, and with the digital and public-relations departments to promote stories and issues
• Run creative meetings with edit and art
• Help execute multi-platform projects and brand events

Who you are:
• You must be a detail-oriented, meticulous, idea-generating editor with 10 or more years of post-grad experience at a major consumer brand
• You are experienced at editing a magazine or website, or large portions of one
• A team leader
• You are well-connected to both well-known and up-and-coming writers
