Responsibilities
Role Purpose:
The CDN Planner (Data Scientist) will be part of the Quality & CDN team where they will join the dots between business needs through modeling and analytic capabilities. You will manage Comcast and Sky network infrastructure and technology by producing automation tooling for strategic planning and operational readiness.

Responsibilities:
• Act as the capacity management focal point for Peacock across Comcast and Sky

• Network Technology
• Content Delivery: Explore, evaluate and capitalise on risks and opportunities related to Internet Service Provider infrastructure technologies – CDN in specific
• Network Modelling: Translate into code (software models) infrastructure designs and capacity management process leveraging your expertise in networks and your understanding of business challenges
• Data Analytics
• Data Engineering: Develop and support the ingestion, processing and analysis of data (pipelines) for modelling, reporting, visualisation and business intelligence purposes
• Insights: Carry on analysis answering key business questions by applying an analytical mind-set. Quickly and efficiently process information from multiple sources. Work with stakeholders to interpret complex technical analysis and communicate them effectively

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a relevant field
• Minimum three (3) years of experience managing CDN configurations
• Knowledge of both video and site delivery configurations
• Expertise in CDN technology, including multi-CDN management
• Understanding of CDN best practices and industry standard KPIs and how to measure
• Hands-on with at least 2-3 CDN vendors, such as Akamai, Level3, or Limelight
• Good programming skills (ideally in Python) and SQL knowledge
• Good analytical skills and a consultative, proactive and join-the-dots approach
• Solid understanding of telecommunication networks. Genuine interest in Broadband (ISP) technology.

Desired Characteristics
• Telecommunications industry experience (or similar e.g. academia). BSc / MSc / PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar
• Knowledge of data analytics, modelling and statistical analysis
• Knowledge of Cloud environments (Google Cloud and/or Amazon AWS), DevOps (Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD), Agile principles
• Experience working as part of a geographically distributed team
• Good regional network of telco and CDN contacts, industry body engagement
• Experience working as part of a geographically distributed team
