Responsibilities
NBC10/Telemundo62 is seeking an experienced, strategic news leader and journalist to lead and direct its diverse duopoly newsroom.
Our motivated leader will have a proven track record of strategic growth across all platforms. The successful candidate will elevate and motivate a team with their vision for maximizing performance, inspiring excellence, and living our brand as we serve the tri-state area. The successful candidate must have exceptional journalistic skills, a news philosophy that emphasizes accuracy, and decision-making ability based upon a mixture of analysis, experience, and thoughtful judgment.

Responsibilities
• Strategically lead, inspire, and manage our multi-platform News team.
• Work closely with the News team to produce high-quality, relevant, local content that differentiates our stations apart from competitors.
• Support the success of our News pillars in Weather, Breaking News, Investigative, and Consumer across all platforms.
• Lead a culture that values enterprise reporting and breaking news across all content platforms.
• Leads change in a convincing and inclusive manner.
• Prioritize collaboration between television and digital content teams to create original, must-see programming and breaking news coverage for all platforms.
• Skillfully partner with digital leader to use social media and digital tools to research, discover, and distribute content.
• Inspire and coach superior, unique, and engaging multi-platform storytelling.
• Maintain close, daily interaction with all department leaders in a mutual effort to achieve station goals and extend our brand.
• Strong financial acumen and successful experience preparing departmental budgets, developing and presenting strategic plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned to drive and fulfill the station's mission while abiding by news and business protocols of NBCU.

Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• A proven track record with a minimum of 10 years of experience at a senior level position demonstrating excellence in news coverage.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in content creation for a news outlet

• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws impacting newsroom operations
• Knowledgeable about FCC rules and laws pertaining to news broadcasting in multi-media platforms and employment and labor regulations
• ''Out of the box'' thinker who challenges traditional norms and champions innovation
• Demonstrates proven ability to develop and convey the organizational vision to all departments at all levels
