Responsibilities
Role Purpose
The US OTT Technology team is seeking a Director of Engineering to join NBCUniversal's Direct-to-Consumer organization. This role will be a seasoned leader who will partner with the product and engineering to implement and rollout the Peacock app across different platforms.

Primary responsibility is to provide engineering leadership for the teams that develop our Peacock client app across platforms, to accelerate the feature development and to improve customer experience across platforms/devices. Strategic and tactical tech leadership for the engineering team to deliver high performing apps.

Primary Responsibilities
• Define and continuously optimize the client application developed by the team
• Relationship management, strategy and roadmap for customer experience engineering related to client and vendors
• Lead a team of engineers to improve on the client platform experience and rapidly enable new platforms and devices
• Serve as internal subject matter expert on matters pertaining to client development and rapid development of new features
• Develop relationships with key technical & product counterparts and understand dependencies
• Provide hands on leadership for troubleshooting and solving technical and performance issues
• Manage external dependencies to enable successful delivery for the Client team; have knowledge to escalate when needed at the right level
• Oversee the roadmap for the teams. Regularly publish roadmap updates and solicit stakeholder feedback
• Develop a team of engineers to continuously improve, through coaching, mentoring & management support
• Grow the technical expertise of your team around quality, scalability, performance & fault tolerance
• Work closely with the recruitment team to hire and onboard engineers
• Strategic leadership regarding vendor management, technical content strategy related to content protection and video standards

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum ten (10) years' experience building video apps and products as an engineer
• Minimum five (5) years' experience leading agile engineering teams
• A proven track record of leadership with strong technical competence in supervising the implementation, deployment and maintenance of digital media platforms for video products
• Effective communication skills, creative decisiveness and engineering innovation

Eligibility Requirements
• Must be able to work nights, overtime, and on weekends with short notice
• Must be willing to work in Stamford, CT
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older
