Job Description

Responsibilities
CNBC is building a new team for a new one-hour evening news program titled The News with Shepard Smith, launching this Fall, and airing weekdays at 7pm ET. In this newscast, you will be an integral part to help widen our aperture to cover the most significant news stories of the day.

What you'll do:
• Support the executive producer of (show) in helping to lead and drive the editorial vision of the show, the content and management of the staff
• Partner with the executive producer to maintain and advise the editorial content and the creative vision of the program including scripting and graphics production
• Coach and help mentor the show's 10+ member staff
• To work in the control room to help execute the show itself
• To work closely with the anchor and the on-air staff to coordinate editorial content and scheduling of the on-air contributor team
• You must be able to help lead the team and to be aggressive on breaking news, which includes producing in a very fast paced environment

Qualifications/Requirements
What you'll bring:
• Must have at least 5 years of experience in live television (i.e. financial news network, morning shows, cable shows, broadcast TV).
• Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
• Strong national and international, network news, experience

Desired Characteristics

You'll stand out if:
• Master's degree in journalism or Business preferred
• Exceptional editorial skills: Ability to recognize stories with high potential for provocative, compelling television
• Up to date on periodicals, including Op-Eds
• Strong proven interpersonal and leadership skills
• Ability to generate ideas in guest planning and enterprise
• Deep understanding of audience, CNBC viewers and on-air integrity
