Senior 3D Generalist

This is a long-term contracted assignment with our contractor Yoh Staffing with a high likelihood of extension.

Sony PlayStation's Visual Arts Services Group (VASG) on our San Diego campus provides world-class content, development and services to PlayStation Studios such as Insomniac Games, Naughty Dog, Santa Monica Studio, Bend Studio, Guerilla Games, and more! You're a creative and experienced 3D artist who's worked cross-discipline within environments, characters, lighting, and FX. You're inspired to achieve the highest of quality in your work and want to contribute to the artistic vision and development of the industry's most anticipated AAA games.

We're looking for talented 3D artist with games experience (preferably working in Unreal and postproduction) to work with our Art Leads to create a range of assets.

Responsibilities:
• Build and texture realistic 3D models including architecture, vegetation and props in accordance with the artistic direction, production targets and technical specifications.
• Integrate both high & low polygon meshes in a PBR pipeline.
• QC assets in the game engine, and make improvements to fit technical constraints and artistic direction

Required Qualifications:
• Degree in graphic design, 3D, video game development or equivalent.
• 5 years or more of game development experience.
• 1 shipped AAA title is a plus.

Required Skills:
• Expert level knowledge of Maya, 3DSMax, Photoshop, ZBrush, and Substance Painter.
• Excellent knowledge of real-time modeling techniques (shaders, PBR, normal, displacement etc.)
• Strong high-resolution modeling and texturing skills.
• Familiarity with game development engines, preferably Unreal.
• Knowledge of scripting such as Python, MEL, MAX Script or C#.
• C++ plugin development is a plus.
