Job Description

Scrum Master

San Diego, CA (Rancho Bernardo)

The Data Strategy and Operations (DSO) team has grown rapidly over recent years in response to a growing need for the business to leverage data to inform and craft key decisions, and to identify new opportunities. Currently there are over a 100 staff within the DSO team, split between California and London, made up of high-quality BI and data professionals covering BI architecture and platform support, data processing, insight reporting, predictive analytics, scrum masters and product management.

Due to team expansion DSO are looking to recruit a hardworking, a highly driven Scrum Master who has excelled in previous roles and is looking for a new challenge in a dynamic and exciting environment.

Responsibilities:

As a Scrum Master within DSO, you will support two teams utilizing Scrum & Kanban to varying degrees. These teams will be comprised of members from both the US & UK and are business facing (delivering reporting, analysis, and other assets across the companies and offices that make up the PlayStation business).

You will perform a typical scrum master role including facilitation of ceremonies i.e. daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, retrospectives and sprint reviews, as well as participate in program planning, reviews and inspect & adapt sessions.

In carrying out your role, you will be a key influencer for the adoption of agile delivery within the team, working with other DSO Scrum Masters and members of the DSO PMO, continually looking to improve ways of working. You will mentor team members on existing, new or improved way of working and establish proven working relationships with other teams, inside and outside of DSO, to plan for and lead cross team dependencies and risks.

DSO is very transatlantic in its nature, with our teams collaborating between the US and London daily, so an element of pragmatism is required when arranging team activities.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and a self-starter who can see opportunities for improvement and work in a collaborative fashion to ensure these are delivered.

Qualifications:
• Experience in a similar role, working in fast-paced, sophisticated environments, delivering business critical projects
• Previous experience working in a global environment, with colleagues in different time zones
• Understanding and experience with different agile delivery styles & methodologies.
• Without needing to be a technical specialist, the ability to work comfortably in a technology and data team.
• An awareness and appreciation of data and its value within an organization.
• Experience working in a role/environment where flexibility and resourcefulness as an individual are important.
• The courage to speak up and address issues that impair the ability of the team to meet defined goals.
• Familiarity with industry leading agile principles.
• Ability to facilitate & coach cross-functional teams
• Ability to engage with senior partners as well as developers.
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and context switch between low level detail and the ''bigger picture''

Preferred:
• Experience working with teams data solutions.
• Recognized Agile qualification.
• Experience using Jira & Confluence.
• Familiarity with industry leading agile principles.
• Knowledge of data and technologies including Domo, Adobe Analytics, MicroStrategy, Tableau, Ab Initio, etc.
• Understanding of AWS fundamentals.
• Knowledge of Snowflake Data Warehouse fundamentals.
