Responsibilities
The Producer is responsible for identifying newsworthy stories, participating in editorial planning, and supporting reporters in setting up interviews and contacts for stories.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for conceptualizing and writing accurate Spanish-language news stories
• Works in collaboration with Assignment Editors, Reporters, and production crews
• Responsible for selecting, assigning, writing and organizing news stories
• Revises scripts for accuracy and grammar
• Generates relevant topics and news briefs with script and video
• Collaborates with Editors and Reporters to improve story and presentation
• Assists in writing news scripts and promotional teasers
• Works closely with Producers and Executive Producers on story planning and coordination
• Field produces when needed
• Works under the direct supervision of the Director of Western Region and VP of News Gathering and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
• Other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Producer in TV production and/or cable TV
• Must be fully fluent in English and Spanish (both written and verbal)
• Prior work experience directing and guiding talent in video productions
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be willing to work in Los Angeles, CA
• Willingness to travel and work overtime and on days off with little to short notice
• Must be able to work Wednesday to Sunday
• Must have a valid driver's license (if applicable)
• Must be ''on call'' 24 hours a day/7 days a week (if applicable)
• Must be able to provide a reel/portfolio of work examples -- if available, include a web address when you submit your resume (if applicable)
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program

• Accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization
• Demonstrated self-starter with a highly developed rolodex of contacts within TV industry highly preferred
• Proven solid writing skills and editorial judgment
• Proven excellent interpersonal skills combined with a strong sense of how to visually tell a compelling story desired
