Senior Producer - Race & Culture

DESCRIPTION:

This position will serve as the #2 to Alvin Patrick, Executive Producer of the Race & Culture Unit. This department serves a dual focus: as facilitator and incubator of Race & Culture content. This role will have daily interaction with all CBS News shows as a second pair of fresh eyes (viewing scrips & screeners) with the goal of ensuring all race & culture related content strikes the right text and tone.

This role will also take pitches from Producers across the division; ensuring they are properly assessed and the best of them are produced and find a home within our platforms.

The role requires a master producer skill set: writing, story arcing, structure. They will produce segments and oversee stories and specials. This position will be expected to have impeccable judgement and make decisions 24/7

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIREMENTS:
• Extensive journalism experience is essential, including a strong background in writing, copy editing, and video production
• Some management experience necessary, especially working with teams of people
