The Job
A CNN Floor Director in an essential part of our studio production team. You will be overseeing the studio production for shows at CNN, HLN & CNNI. The Floor Director works closely with the Director to make sure that the show runs smoothly, and you will be integral in making that happen.

The Daily
• Communicate directions, timing cues and instructions primarily to on-air talent and guests on set, as well as other members of the technical studio crew.
• Control/organize the movement of people and equipment within the studio during live shows and tapings. Oversee set-up of all visual displays and monitoring on the set.
• Pre-production planning responsibilities include participating in production meetings and assisting the director with camera blocking and scenery issues.
• Assist other studio personnel as required (prepping talent for air, etc.)
• Keep organized and have ability to document technical and scenic set up for assigned productions.
• Travel for show production as needed.
• Work with a studio audience clearly communicating instructions and rules of the studio
• Perform A2 duties as needed, troubleshooting audio and lighting issues.

The Essentials
• College degree preferred.
• Prior job experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• 3 to 5 years of Studio Television production experience.
• A love of TV Production, having both a creative eye and technical aptitude.
• Individuals must be highly organized and have strong leadership abilities.
• Must be able to work in a leadership role to support a team-building environment, exhibit professionalism, teamwork and work well under pressure and deadlines in a 24/7 news environment.
• Previous work with on-air talent preferred.

• Must be able to succeed under the pressure of a live television environment, exhibit great attention to detail, and be a team player.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with management, directors, technicians, designers, and engineers.
• A love of TV Production, having both a creative eye and technical aptitude.
• Must be able to prioritize and service multiple requests, demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills, remain calm under pressure, and show a willingness to learn and embrace new technologies.
