Job Description

At the heart of the UK Label Marketing Team at Caroline International, this is an entry-level role for a passionate, energetic and highly-organised individual.

Located on Ladbroke Grove in London, Caroline is UMG’s artist and label services division, providing marketing, promotions, digital and international marketing, sales and distribution support for a diverse roster of independent artists and labels.


Operating in a fast-paced environment, you will need to be adept at juggling a busy workload in support of the Marketing team, working across the full label roster. First class communication and organisational skills, with a passion for contemporary British music culture (particularly UK urban), is what we’re looking for!

N.B this role will involve regularly attending live music gigs across London on weekday evenings and occasionally at weekends.

Skills & Experience

Be Organised
• Arrange artist planning and other meetings and conference calls for the marketing team and UK Label Head, as required
• Take planning meeting minutes and distribute (with approval of relevant product manager)
• Assist the UK Label Head with diary management, travel arrangements and meeting planning
• Ensure Caroline release schedule & team hub is kept up to date (Google doc)
• Ensure all artist one-sheets are up to date
• Co-ordinate promo CD requests and distribute
• Arrange and run promo schedules and book relevant artist & staff travel, when needed
• Update the Caroline gig schedule (Google doc) and present the weekly gig schedule in the Monday label meeting
• Responsible for all live show ticket buys and distribution of tickets for relevant key staff, contacts and promo team members (with approval of relevant Product/Marketing Manager)
• Manage and organise guest-list/after show events at live shows, when needed
• Register artist tour dates for OCC chart registered sales
• Maintain the creative contacts database

Be Analytical
• Learn how to utilise all available UMG streaming and consumption data tools
• Carry out in-depth artist case studies and stat comparisons, as required by the Product/Marketing Managers and Label Head, liaising with our in-house data analyst

Be Collaborative
• Work closely with PRs & pluggers to distribute secure audio to relevant contacts
• Ensure the relevant brand & synch team members are invited to all key planning meetings and live shows and kept up to date on all projects, release schedule and gig calendar
• Liaise with Sales Team on tour stock orders being shipped to management/venues
• Assist the Product/Marketing Managers & Sales Team with weekly priority sheet pitches

Be Creative
• With approval of the Product/Marketing Manager, write creative briefs and work closely with designers to execute artwork as required e.g. posters, video content, digital marketing assets etc.
• Learn production processes, deadlines and systems at Universal with a view to taking on smaller artist projects

• Self-motivated with the ability to deal with the routine tasks as well as the more interesting aspects of the role
• Tactful and diplomatic
• Hardworking and enthusiastic

Desirable
• Someone who is immersed in contemporary UK music culture, particularly the UK urban music scene, would be desirable for this role, as Caroline has a strong and fast-growing UK urban roster. We also have a strong roster of indie/alternative artists and a growing pop and electronic roster so interest in these genres
• Knowledge and experience of audience development, digital and social media is advantageous
• Good IT skills i.e. Microsoft Office packages including Word and Excel, experience of Photoshop and basic HTML coding
• Experience of R2, Uniport & CPRS is advantageous
