Sr Editorial Producer - Face The Nation

DESCRIPTION:

Face the Nation is seeking a Senior Editorial Producer in Washington. This person will be responsible for close coordination with the Moderator and Executive Producer on the editorial content of the broadcast, overseeing the research operation and monitoring breaking news as well as policy as related to the broadcast needs.

Senior Editorial Producer will also be involved with overall production and editorial of the broadcast, working collaboratively with the Executive Producer, Director, Senior Producer and Broadcast Producer on coordination and supervision of all production elements, story pitches, editing, studio and field production needs.

Candidates must be decisive multi-taskers with outstanding journalistic judgment and be able to work effectively and professionally in a deadline driven environment. Candidates should have an excellent command of legal and journalism standards processes, and both field and control room experience. This position requires an understanding of news gathering and of broadcasting technology as well as a broad knowledge of political, national and world events and newsmakers, plus a passion for finding new and compelling ways to promote and expand Face the Nation's broadcast and digital presences.

Must be willing and able to work flexible hours on a Wednesday-Sunday work week schedule, with ability to stay on top of news and developments in off-hours.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Exceptional writing, organizational and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities.
• Attention to detail and thoroughness is a must.
• Field and control room experience a plus.
