Vice President, Music

Job Description

The Regional Sports Networks (RSNs) are seeking a Vice President, Music! The Vice President of Music manages the Music department, including overseeing all aspects of music clearance and licensing for RSN's, Tennis Channel and Stadium Sports, PRO Reporting, negotiating music library deals and approving music contracts and budgets. This position also provides some creative input regarding the selection and clearing of music for production.

Responsibilities include:
• Managing the Music Department
• Oversees clearance, cue sheets, and licensing processes
• Manages team; interfaces with Legal, HR and Executives
• Oversees music supervision as needed by producers; interacts with production teams and contacts at various record labels
• Negotiates music library deals and oversees and approves deals for extended licenses as needed
• Manages the music budgeting process in conjunction with the production and finance executives

Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• 7-10 years music supervision experience with strong knowledge of Rights and Clearances
• 5 or more years of related management experience
• Experience in television industry and music licensing required
• Must have excellent management skills, negotiation skills, budgeting knowledge and planning experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must have well-developed interpersonal skills required to manage department and work with production teams
• General math skills needed for budgeting
• Utilize MS Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook
• Must be extremely organized, demonstrate initiative and ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
• Needs excellent time management skills and must be able to recommend and implement process improvements
• Must be a team player and a self-starter

Work Environment:

Primarily works in a quiet professional office environment, but will also need to attend live events and in studio sessions.
